Ian is a specialist in Prosthetics, SFX, Historical, Character and Theatrical Makeup. He started his career in theatre & fashion but his talent and passion sent him towards specialist makeup.

His skill set includes: Lifecasting, Flat Moulding, Sculpting, Fibreglass Cores, Prosthetic Application, Airbrush, Body Painting, Body Art, Fashion, Character, SFX, Make-up Lead, Crowd Make-up, Basic Hair, Basic Wig Dressing, Theatre, Still Photography, TV, Ad-campaigns, Cat-walk, and Fashion Photography & Events.

 

Ian has worked with personalities to include, Sir Ian McEllen, Eleanor Bron, Samatha Bond, Alison Steadman, Imelda Staunton, HRH Princess Royal, Christopher Biggins, Gok Wan to mention but a few.He currently teaches & demos Media, SFX and Prosthetics to Degree, BTEC and City & Guilds levels (III, IV & V) at various colleges in the UK.

 

Ian frequently demos at trade shows such as IMATS & UMAe. He has worked for Mr Dashbo, Mehron UK & PS-Composites and is also a senior artist with Seventa Image. He recently joined ExilianFX Studios as a Makeup Designer and Senior Artist.

Ian is currently brand Ambassador for Mehron UK, a branch of Mehron Inc. He is sponsored by Mehron & Ben Nye through Treasure House of Makeup. Ian originally trained with Kryolan in Theatre & SFX and was mentored by the Ex Wig and Makeup Master of the Royal Opera House – Ron Freeman. Ian has also attained the following qualifications: BSc Hons, Dip Opera Performance, ENO Baylis Programme Knack, FHT Associate, City & Guilds III, ITEC III and Level 3 – Award in Education and Training (PLTS).
